Area of Italy you live in?

Firenze

Let us know a little about yourself?

I am single, currently studying tango and Italian

Why did you decide to move to Italy?

I decided back in 2002 when I first came and studied.

What type of process did you go through to be able to move here?

I am in the process of dual citizenship.  It has been going on for 3 years but I am hopeful.

What problems did you run into during the initial process and how were you able to fix them ?

Just the fact that everytime I came to the Consulate in Chicago he told me there was something else I need to do.  He was a meanypants.

How long have you been here?

I lived in Firenze for 8 months as an au pair.  Wouldn't change a thing!

What type of adjustment problems have you had?

It was hard being away from my family.  But that soon passed when I got reaquainted with my friends who became my family in the end.

What inside secret could you pass on to others looking to move over?

Remember to stay positive and always when homesick meet up with friends and enjoy the company of a life you could never experience in the States.

What has changed about you since you have been here ?

I appreciate family more, I appreciate my boldness and original lifestyle ideas and how friends are supposed to treat you.

Do you think that you will stay forever?

I will be living my life half in Firenze, half in Chicago.  Nothing can replace family.
