This was taken of the garden from my bedroom window. It is the only five hours of winter I've seen so far and it was last Friday. Today it's close to sixty degrees F again and tomorrow will be February 1. Very strange.
Joanna, I have been meaning to ask - what do you have planted on the pergola in your garden? I have a new garden and need to make a decision about the pergola - grape vine, wisteria, or ramblng rose? I love the notion of the grape vine but I will have a dining table under the pergola, grapes might be messy.
Thank you, Janice. I have an ancient grape vine which was here when I arrived. The grapes are 'uva fragola' or red table grapes. Very sweet. It doesn't get messy under the pergola at all. I'm also growing some jasmine up one of the posts.
Thanks, Joanna. I like the idea of the table grape. I live in the south and lots of older homes have ancient vines in the gardens, though usually muscadine or scuppernong.
