We only had one week of hellish weather at the end of June and things are lovely right now. Just a few notes:

Italy beat Germany. Yay! Bush is still in office. Boo!

I am adjusting so well that I have forgotten what it's like to live anywhere else. My language skills need more work - a huge understatement- but I am getting along and will study more in the winter.

The house continues to evolve. Una casa vissuta, according to my friend Carmela and her daughters. It's really a great place to hang out with friends with dinner on the table, music, and good wine.

Yes, it was really noisy here last night. Great whoops of joy echoing through the town at the two goals and then the cars flying flags, honking and speeding through the village. Great fun! Italy in the final for the World Cup. Che gioia!!!

I was walking back from the parking lot last night and two guys stopped and asked if I was the American with the peace flag flying out the window. Then they said, "Complimenti!!!" and we shook hands and went on our way. Nice.

Going up to Venice for a couple of days next week with Gary and Zak.
