A few strange images from the last three days. We were in Venezia and it was as hot and humid as it gets. We were, however, on a mission to find a venue for a friend of Gary's who's coming for the biennale in 2007. And we were celebrating Zak's birthday.

Here are two pictures: one is a ghostly shot of a famous spiral staircase which we went to look at around midnight. The other is a detail excerpted from a shot I took in my favorite restaurant in Venice and I'm not going to tell anyone which one it is because there are only twenty seats and I plan to eat there often, for example, when I go back in the winter to shop without looking like a bucket of water was just dumped on me.

Then there are a couple of shots of the inside of a palazzo on the Grand Canal and another quite normal picture of Zak and I on the terrace at the Bauer for drinks before dinner.

They're all mixed up but you get the idea. I am very glad to be back in my own home in the Val d'Orcia tonight. Much dryer and a bit cooler.
