Yesterday morning I was swimming in the Tasman sea. The water was so clear!!! On the drive through the countryside to the airport, I finally saw kangaroos in the wild. I'd seen one wallaby in the bush behind the house over a week ago, but such a brief glimpse... like the one dolphin I saw in the Hawkesbury off Dangar Island.

Went to the Evercreech Forest Reserve and saw the oldest and largest white gums in the world. They were in a jungle setting that looked prehistoric. My friend, Zak, saw some echidna while I was wandering. I was so sorry to have missed them.

This all followed a weekend in Hobart where we went to the Salamanca market, visited Brunie Island, and went to the top of Mt. Wellington with its spectacular views.

So concludes my sojourn in Tasmania. I'm back in Sydney now with a little over a week left in Australia before going home to Castiglione d'Orcia.
