I have been away from this blog for too long. But I have a lot of excuses not the least of which is that I was picking olives this past weekend. I have also been in Egypt during three weeks of this hiatus and I have been yelling at my contractor in Castiglion d'Orcia since my return. I wanted to move into the house on November 12, but they are behind and it will be at least another week or so before its habitable. And then I go to Australia for the holidays and won't return until March 1. But I will try to work on this blog while I'm staying with my sister in Oz. In the meantime, here's a pic.

Wow! How was the trip? It looks beautiful. Was it scary at all? I am kind of afraid to travel to areas such as Egypt.
Not at all scary and a great trip: the pyramids at Giza, the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan, a three day cruise from there to Luxor on the S.S. Sudan, a stay at the Al Moudira which is the best hotel in Egypt, the old Nile Hilton in Cairo across from the Egyptian Museum. All this with lots of tombs and temples and shopping in the souks and visiting mosques built centuries ago. The Egyptian people are incredibly hospitable and kind.
It really looks like FUN.......I love it......you really made the right choice in getting out of here....Myriam
