What a great day! Went to the bank and picked acacia blossoms in the yard of the nearby medieval church. Then faxed documents to the shipping company from the local stationery store. By afternoon it was pouring down rain (living up here in a cloud) which was much needed. Went to the nurseries near Montepulciano and got soaking wet buying lavender, roses, herbs, chives, rosemary, basil, thyme and other plants for which I'll have to learn the names.
Came home, lit a fire in the stufa, made batter fried acacia blossoms and opened a bottle of red.
Tomorrow we plant everything in the garden.

Since we're in the states for a visit right now I guess it wouldn't be appropriate to say "Welcome!", but I'll say it anyway! Welcome to your new home, your new life, to your own little piece of heaven on earth. It sounds as if you're settling in quite well, and I hope we can catch up on all the details once we return to Italy.
