All done in two days!!!
My friend Deb, (here on the left with her pooch Bijoux)
from "Noo Joisey" (LOL) almost knocked me off my perch last Wednesday. We were talking about "this, that and the price of fish" (as one does), when she suddenly said "I think Joe (DH) and I will be coming over for a holiday soon. "Yes I know" - says I - "Next year or the year after - right?"
"Oh NO" she says....."This August!"
"WHAT? - OMG - What a wonderful surprise!"
Well we chatted for ages (almost two and a half hours) - plus several more times over the next 48 hours (thank heavens for SKYPE), and everything was literally 'done and dusted' by Friday morning!!! They often say that impromptu plans do work out better than those which are meticulously planned ages before the fact. Though I must admit that is the way I usually work. Lists for this - lists for that - memo's stuck all over the place - stuff ready to pack ages before it's needed. But the few times I've just 'upped sticks and gone' it has always worked just fine....
So in mid-August Deb and Joe will be here on Lake Como and I will have the pleasure of showing them some of the wonderful attractions here.
They will have the opportunity of exploring the lake on the wonderful 'batelli' (lake boats)
and exploring all the little 'alleyways' in places like Bellaggio.
Plus - they'll see the area where I live - my wonderful Valtellina!
Oh I'm just soooo excited!

This is going to be one fantastic trip! We get to meet you and be back in Lake Como and really SEE the place this time! YAHOOOOOO!!!

That is great that Deb is coming! yay! Too bad I wont be there for it as well - we should have an amici gtg at your place sometime ;)
All is well here, just still trying to get my bearings back, moving cross country last minute and all. trying to figure out what exactly im doing with my life (last night i started thinking that a year teaching english is south korea could be fun!)...

Nuccia, I would so love it if you could get to NJ sometime--or we could all do a gtg in Italia!!We're not going to even have that much time in italy--not nearly what we'd wanted, but we booked it the last minute and will be there for only 10 dys--two of which will be in the air!!!
I'm going to miss my little Bijoux terribly--I'm already starting miss him and we didn't even leave! But my mom is a great "babysitter"!! Lori, I would love to talk to you--I know I ahavent been on Amici for a bit so all I know is that you have moved! Please get in touch when you are settled, ok?
