Another year - HOORAY!
Yep...another year without 'the weed'!I've now gone for THREE YEARS (at 11.45pm last night) without lighting up a fag!
No - I'm not going to say it was easy...well it was when I was in hospital thinking that 'My Maker' had come for me - but gradually that addiction and need lessened to the point that now I can freely admit (to myself) that "I don't smoke"....now that can't be bad.
Just think, if I had still been playing at being a chimney then I wouldn't have been able to get the house painted ...but I suppose I could have puffed smoke over the walls and had a delicate nicotine hue on the walls - hahaha
It still doesn't bother me at all when others smoke near me....It's even sort of nice (?) sometimes just to smell tobacco smoke. I can say that now because I KNOW I'll never be tempted again.

AUGURONI!!! Brava, brava, bravissima! My mom quit smoking almost 16 years ago, and I saw how difficult it was for her...now if only my OH would do the same!
I HAVE 2 DEAR FRIENDS WHO CANNOT KICK THE HABBIT IN TIME TO LENGHTEN THEIR LIFE. WE BOTH QUITT FOR THE SAKE OF OUR BOY, HE WAS AFRAID FOR US TO DIE OF LUNG CANCER. MY DEAR BRAVE ROSE CANNOT TALK TO ME ANYMORE ON THE PHONE BECAUSE SHE IS FIGHTING FOR EVERY BREATH SHE NEEDS, WE LOST CONTACT FOR GOOD NOW. THANKS TO YEARS OF SMOKING, AS A CHILD ROSE HAD TO PICK COTTON AND WHICH RUINED HER BACK DRAGGING THE HEAVY SACK BEHIND HER. OUR BUDDY JOYCE TRIED QUITTING MANY TIMES AND DID NOT WIN, "YOU ARE A WINNER MS.CAROLE".
Wow!!!! We quit about the same time. For me three years will be on the 8th of April. You are right about having money by not smoking. I can't believe how long I can go without drawng out some cash these days. Keep up the good work.
Brava! I know how hard it is....I quit back in May, 1989 and I have to say I STILL miss having a cigaret in my hand! Of course I don't miss the bronchitis at all! Stai Forza!
