Trojan Horses!
Like the 'eyes'???? YesNo they're not seductive eyes - Ssh - but then neither is the rest of me.... But they've gotta be better than some of the damned awful photo's of me that are around.
But back to the Trojan Horses!
Well after countless days suffering a bloody Trojan Horse virus inside my PC , I'm now 'back on line' properly..... Over this period I've been almost too scared to send E-Mails to anyone 'just in case it multiplied and joined them too.
What it was doing was 'down loading' Internet files onto my 'C' drive to the point of almost making the whole thing 'crash'. I would then get a message that my 'C' drive was on the verge of collapse and did I want 'MS Dick Cleaner' - to search for and cancel files I don't usually use or those that are 'old'. At one point the 'available space remaining on the drive was only 28kb!!!!
It was telling me that it was urgent to free some space.... so - once again - I set it in motion.... It found me 628kb (whew!) But 20 minutes later the bloody virus had downloaded again!
A rapid call to #1 son - Sergio in the UK to ask if he could ask his friend to help me. 'Friend' works for Microsoft on their Help Desk and does take over your PC remotely (he's in London) and will sort out the problems. I don't know how much this service costs - Sergio says he will pay for the service for me!
But this guy 'took over' the pc at 13.45 yesterday...obviously I had to be sitting there in case - vis AIM he needed to ask or instruct me what to do. To see my cursor 'flying' around the screen and programmea opening, closing, downloading, installing and goodness knows what else, was fascinating. He also downloade the latest anti spyware (Defender) for me and the had to 're-install' all my personal files. Well - god bless him - he didn't actually finish all this until nearly 21.00 last night. We did have a 45 min. break about 18.30 while a particular file was downloading an needed over an hour to do so!!!
I never imagined - even with the three Trojan Horses that infected the PC last year (far less insidious that this one)...that virus' could be so dangerous. Well, we live and learn. But the eternal question remains----HOW DID IT GET IN?
