The start of a nice holiday!

Well 'my mate' Paddy arrived at Bergamo airport this morning at the start of 10 days of 'freedom' from DH (hahaha).....
And of course, being in Italy the first stop had to be aperitivi and lunch 'lakeside'.

So with Crodini and spuntini served we just sat in the sunshine and looked across the lake towards Piona Abbey (hidden in the trees opposite). There will be more about theabbey later this week!

With aperitifs finished it was then on to the quetion of lunch. Here Paddy was very serious about pouring her water into the glass (?).

She is gradually becoming more adventurous with Italian cuisine, though is still a 'bit of a coward' about some things.....

The weather today at the start of her holiday bodes well, but I must confess to having my fingers crossed for her.

She has just met 'His Nibs' (aka Ciccio) and it was really a case of love at first site for them both! Though I'm sure that at the back of his mind lurked the hope that this 'new friend' might be more of a 'pushover' than I am!
