HOW ITALY WORKS....OR NOT....

If you're Italian, live in Italy, travel in Italy, or have ever read anything about Italy, chances are you have some idea that the country is ensnared in a bureaucracy so out of control that it's hard to imagine how the country continues to function on any level.

BEPPO GRILLO adresses the problems, shortcomings, illegalities and what-would-be-comically-unbelieveable-if-only-they-weren't-true-stories on his blog. For me, although the intent is good and the ideas are interesting, quite often I don't know 'the rest of the story'. I don't know the history of the problem he's writing about, or the story behind the politician he's criticizing. THIS POST however, does a nice job of informing the reader of some of the frustrations faced by average people when dealing with Italian bureaucracy.

Now if I could only understand why more Italians aren't up in arms about the incompetent crooked politicians who seem to be everywhere...from Berlusconi on down...or why they were elected in the first place.
