BIG BROWN DELIVERS!!!!!

It was a beautiful day...blue skies, fluffly clouds, cool breeze. As Big Brown walked into the paddock to be saddled he let loose.....leaving a few horse patties in his wake. At that moment I predicted to my daughter that Big Brown would win, simply because I knew he felt so much lighter! Coming from the 20th post position he did the nearly impossible, winning easily by several lengths. Big Brown did indeed deliver!

The excitement and joy was quickly replaced with concern when we saw that Eight Belles, the filly, the second place finisher, was down on the track. It wasn't long before we learned that the worst had happened...she had multiple breaks in both front legs and had been put down.

What a roller coaster ride for everyone! Congratulations to everyone associated with Big Brown, and heartfelt condolences to everyone associated with Eight Belles. Next stop...Baltimore!
