NOT GONE, NOT FORGOTTEN, JUST BUSY!
As you know we're here in Louisville for a few weeks. Art's started work at Churchill Downs, but before that we had a full week to relax and catch up. We've seen friends and family, celebrated our grandson's 15th birthday, seen quite a few movies, eaten some of our favorite American treats and cooked for friends.
Most of the movies we've seen have been okay....and just okay. Several of the movies we've seen have been recommended by friends and acquaintances, but honestly, nothing's been that special. We saw "Juno" on the plane...cute, nicely done, but still..... We saw "The Bands' Visit", a quirky little foreign film, and "Death At A Funeral", and "Once". All were worth a few bucks, but still nothing really grabbed me. So far the only movie I've seen that I thought was GREAT! FANTASTIC! and WORTH SEEING AGAIN! was Scorsese's "Shine A Light"! Wow!!!!! I've never seen the Stones in concert and boy, do I regret it! Lots of energy, lots of fun, and most of all, lots of good music! This one gets two thumbs up from me!!
Our weather here seems to be the same as in Italy...a few warm days followed by clouds and cooler temps with a little rain thrown in for good measure. Today is better, and I hoping for a beautiful day to the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. No, I don't have a horse picked out....don't even know any of the horses running, except "Big Brown", who just won the Florida Derby and is expected to be the favorite. I guess this will be my daughter's horse since she works at OOPS.
Anyway, as you can tell, nothing much to report from the Derby City, just thought I'd let everyone know we're alive and kickin'!
