IN A FOG

Winter in Umbria is cold and damp. Fog is a common occurance, often lasting for days on end. It's been foggy here since Saturday, with only short periods of sun. Today was no exception. We drove to Ponte San Giovanni, about thirty minutes north of here, driving in fog the whole way.

The drive back home was in even heavier fog.

As we apporached San Venanzo, altitude 1400 feet above sea level, the sun was really trying to break through!

The sun lasted for about two hours before we were once again swallowed by fog and darkness.
