ROOF CLEANING!!!

Miracle of miracles, a big truck pulled up outside our front door this morning and lo and behold it held the scaffolding for the roof repairs! What a surprise! I don’t know how long this project will take, or even how much it will cost….Mauro estimated about €2000.

The cost will be shared with the Farnesi’s, and I hope it doesn’t go much higher than €1000…..that’s about $1,280. The gutters will also be cleaned and repaired, and once the project is done I don’t think we’ll ever have to worry about the roof again. By the time it needs repair or replacing the next owners can worry about it.

We went to the weekly market in Marsciano to buy some fruits and veggies to freeze. I was lucky to get the last of the cherries, and boy were they good! Juicy with just the right amount of tartness….I can’t wait to make a pie with them!

I also found these beans….I certainly can’t call them green beans, but the guy at the stand said they tasted just like regular green beans once they were cooked.
