UMBRIA JAZZ FESTIVAL

Every summer Perugia is host to the world famous Umbria Jazz Festival. (http://www.umbriajazz.com/canale.asp)
This years performers ncluded Tony Bennett, The Count Basi Orchestra, Al Jarreau, George Benson, Elton John(?) and many others. This festival lasts ten days, and includes many free concerts throughout the city. We drove into Perugia on Wednesday in time for the noon parade and the start of the free concerts of the day. The diversity of the music really surprised us....we would describe much of what we heard as rock 'n roll, but we also heard lots of great jazz.

Sandri, always famous for their beautifully decadent dessets, made some special treats in honor of the festival...

And the rooftops of Perugia...
